Property inspections / Entomology Reports Clearance Certificates / Treatment Certificates
When selling your house, the following is required:-
1. Property Inspection / Entomology Report
This process is the inspection of the property by a qualified, government registered inspector who determines whether the property is infested or clear of infestation of ECONOMICALLY VIABLE WOOD DESTROYING ORGANISMS (WOOD BORER) and or TERMITES. Without this the conveyancing process (transfer of the property) cannot be completed.
2. The Inspection Report
This document contains details of the property being inspected and if organisms are found, the details of the infestation (location and name of the organism). This document also gives recommendations as to the treatment required to eradicate the infestation.
3. Certificate
a. Clearance Certificate - This certificate is issued when no visible signs of active wood destroying organisms or termites were present at the time of inspection.
b. Treatment Certificate - This certificate is issued when wood destroying organisms or termites were present at the time of inspection and the recommended treatment has been completed.

Soil Posioning
Soil Poisoning is required when building a new structure or doing additions.
This is the process of poisoning the ground before a slab is cast.
This is a statutory requirement and needs to be completed by a qualified, government registered pest control operator.
A certificate is issued on completion and is required for building approval.
